We have collected the most frequently loaned books in the University Library over the past year.

The mission of the ELTE University Library and Archives, which won the Hungarian Heritage Award and – as part of the University Library Service – the title of Qualified Library in 2018, as well as the EFQM “Committed to Excellence” certificate in 2020, is to provide Hungarian and foreign academic teachers, researchers and students with domestic and foreign literature, intending to integrate them into the international circulation of scientific life. Now, you can also help to ensure free access to information, to preserve and digitize our cultural values, and to acquire modern technological equipment and implement continuous service development. In Christmas time 2022, the ELTE University Library and Archives awarded the Pro Bibliotheca Universitatis Certificate of Merit to Anna Orbókné Jagiello and Kinga Sutócki, staff members of the Collection Management Department, thanking them for their high quality and prestigious professional work.

The 2023 calendar of the ELTE University Library and Archives presents the Jesuit missions of the early modern period through some of the library's museum publications.

On the 1st of September 2022, the ELTE University Library and Archives organised the tenth conference entitled Traditions and Challenges. This year's programme included presentations on the themes of Preserve, Protect, Serve and Preservation Practices in Higher Education Libraries.

New volume, "Practices of Research Data Management: Established procedures and pilot projects" has been published by the Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and it is available online for free.

The Library will be closed between the 23rd of December and 1st of January 2023. Our library's services will be available from the 2nd of January 2023. We wish all our dear readers a very merry Christmas and a successful New Year!

There have been personnel changes on the board of trustees of the Foundation for the University Library. Dr. Edit Madas academician, and Judit Osskó architect, were admitted to the Board of Trustees as new members.

Due to technical reasons, the ELTE University Library and Archives will be closed on Saturday, on the 10th of December 2022. From Monday, from the 12th of December 2022, we will be open again. Thank you in advance for your understanding and supporting cooperation.

The Foundation for the University Library supported the ELTE University Library and Archives by purchasing 5 external batteries. The new devices are ready for our readers.

The opening hours of the ELTE University Library and Archives will be changed from the 5th of December 2022. Our library will be open on weekdays between 9.00 and 15.00 to offer our readers a full range of services, on Saturdays our Reading Hall is available for study and reading. Borrowed books may be returned using our Bibliobox in the lobby until 18.00 on opening days. Thank you in advance for your understanding and supportive cooperation.

The ELTE University Library and Archives will be closed on the 25th of November 2022 due to a university event. From Saturday (from the 26th of November 2022) we are waiting for our visitors according to the usual opening hours.

As part of the Autumn Festival of Museums, our library offered guided tours, concerts, as well as book and restoration workshops presentations.
