The network of libraries maintained by Eötvös Loránd University, the University Library Service (eltekonyvtarak.elte.hu/en), with more than 4.3 million documents, wishes you a successful autumn semester.

According to the traditions of Eötvös Loránd University, the Senate of the University presented the awards to the lecturers, employees and staff who provided excellent work and outstanding performance at the opening Senate meeting of the academic year. This year's honorees included several staff members of the University Library Service, who are committed to the cause of the university and library development.

At the second quarterly report of the K21 Quality Coordination Committee 2025, the leaders of the working groups reported on the results of the past quarter, ongoing work and changes.

We would like to inform our readers that, in line with the summer closure of the ELTE libraries, the ELTE library system will be shut down for maintenance from July 28 to approximately August 24, 2025.

On Sunday, 13 April 2025, on the occasion of the International Day of Special Needs Education, the exhibition Traces of the life of our namesake, Gusztáv Bárczi was on display in the library of the Faculty of Special Needs Education, as well as an exhibition on the history of special needs education, which was also held in another room, and which was also provided by the Faculty Library and the Special Needs Education History Collection.

Elsevier is offering trial access to its service called Scopus AI from June 10 to June 24, 2025. The service can be accessed from the Scopus homepage, by connecting to the ELTE internet network, or outside the university using a VPN service.

The American Chemical Society is providing trial access to the CAS BioFinder Discovery Platform until June 13, 2025, to support life sciences research. The platform is available to existing CAS SciFinder users and uses artificial intelligence to explore bioactivity relationships. BioFinder integrates the latest literature, bioactivity data, and 3D protein models to accelerate drug discovery.

Clarivate is offering trial access to the Web of Science Research Assistant for subscribers in Hungary as part of the „Clarivate AI Month”. The trial period provides an opportunity for researchers at institutions to get acquainted with this new, AI-based research support tool.

As of May 23, 2025, online bank card payment is available through the ELTE Library WebApp on both desktop computers and mobile devices.

The MTMT Repository Accreditation Committee has issued a certificate for the journal „Translation Studies”, which was launched by the Department of Translation and Interpreting Training at ELTE BTK in 1999. The journal aims to create a Hungarian-language, internationally significant professional forum in the field of translation studies, and has played a significant role in Hungarian translation studies over the past 25 years. Currently, 27 journals have such a certificate, 7 of which are affiliated with the ELTE Faculty of Humanities.

How to successfully publish with Wiley? Wiley is organizing a webinar on publishing support specifically for researchers, teachers and students of the institutions participating in the Hungarian consortium. The online webinar, the aim of which is, among other things, to support open access publishing, will take place on May 8, 2025 (Thursday), 10:00 – 11:00 AM (CEST).

Sage Publishing provides trial access to the Sage Journals and Sage Research Methods databases until May 31, 2025. The databases can be accessed by connecting to the ELTE internet network, and outside the university using a VPN service.

The journal ratings for SCImago Journal & Country Rank 2024 have been published. Scopus currently indexes five journals affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities at ELTE.

Statista is a global data and business intelligence platform that contains an extensive collection of statistics, reports and insights on more than 80,000 topics. From April 15 to May 14, 2025, the provider opens trial access to the Statista Campus License Business Suite database.

Wiley is supporting university researchers in their literature research and publishing with the following webinars over the next two months. The webinars will be held in English by Wiley experts.

Oxford University Press has offered trial access to the following databases, which will be available until the end of May 2025, either directly on campus or remotely via a VPN service.

JSTOR has announced that its interactive research tool will become available to institutional users starting March 26, 2025, at no additional cost. The tool utilizes artificial intelligence and other technologies to support research, enabling deeper analysis of JSTOR content and the discovery of new connections.

The new version of the Quality Management Handbook is now available on the ELTE Digital Institutional Repository (EDIT).
