The databases can be used without restriction from ELTE IP addresses. In case of remote access databases may accessed after Shibboleth authentication, or for students by using Stunnel, for instructors and for ELTE employees by using a VPN service.

ELTE University Library and Archives initiated the certification process for ELTE Institutional Repository (ELTE EDIT) at Repository Qualification Commission of Hungarian Scientific Bibliography Database (MTMT). As a result, the Commission accepted the institutional archive as a certified repository.

The University Library and Archives conduct a survey in order to map the amount and type of research data managed by researchers at ELTE. The other purpose of this survey is assessing the data management practices of researchers, their willingness and motivation to reuse others’ and share own research data. Educators, researchers and PhD student may launch the questionnaire from Neptun (Administration/Questionaires). The questionnaire anonym and voluntary. It takes maximum of 15 minutes to complete. The end date of completition is the 3rd of December 2021.

ELTE University Library pleased to announce a new series of Research Data Management Trainings presented by the working group of Hungarian Open Repositories (HUNOR), National Research Development and Innovation Office (NKFIH) and the College of University Library Directors (EKK). Unlike the previous workshops of this series this event is a face-to-face meeting. During the workshops, the focus will be on research data management standards and the FAIR principles, which serve to ensure sustainability and greater visibility.

Oxford University Press and EISZ have signed an agreement under which articles submitted by ELTE’s corresponding author for the publisher's hybrid journals may be published in Open Access in 2021 without APC.

In 2021, 6 databases ordered through EISZ will provide free Gold Open Access publishing options.  Pursuant to the subscription agreement between EISZ and the publishers, OA publication may be requested by the corresponding author of the articles, who must have an ELTE affiliation in order for the OA publication with no APC to the authors.
